704Games, NASCAR Team Properties’ exclusive console simulation-style video game licensee, announced today a new round of investment from international media and technology company Motorsport Network, whose platforms represent the largest audience of motorsport and auto enthusiasts in the world. Motorsport Network joins other high-profile existing investors including HC2 Holdings Inc., PlayFast Games, LLC, Leo Capital Holdings LLC, and Gaming Nation Inc.

By becoming a strategic stakeholder in 704Games, Motorsport Network is investing in NASCAR gaming for the first time and expanding its footprint within esports. 704Games’ newest video game release, NASCAR Heat 3, arrives at retailers on Sept. 7, 2018. Additionally, NASCAR Heat Mobile, the first authentic NASCAR mobile racing game, surpassed two million downloads earlier this year.

“Having Motorsport Network join 704Games creates new opportunities for the company as we believe its wide international reach and technical resources will expedite our growth in key areas,” said Paul Brooks, Chief Executive Officer of 704Games“Motorsport Network’s media platforms in the U.S. speak directly to NASCAR fans every day and that is a huge benefit as we continue to grow into competitive gaming and esports.”

The investment also signals Motorsports Network’s growing interest in esports. In February 2018, 704Games announced NASCAR Heat Champions, a multi-day esports tournament during the DAYTONA 500 race weekend. Motorsport Network and 704Games will significantly expand this esports platform in the fall with the launch of NASCAR Heat 3.

“We are big believers that esports will have a profound impact across the international motorsports community for years to come. Our investment in 704Games is a testament to that belief, as well as our newly established joint venture with the ACO and the 24 Hours of Le Mans,” said Colin Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Motorsport Network. We have been very impressed with the 704Games team and its road map for the integration of esports within the NASCAR Heat franchise. This, combined with Motorsport Network’s loyal audience and marketing scale, will give us an incredible platform to captivate the current and future generations of NASCAR fans.”

704Games also announced an extension of its NASCAR gaming license with NASCAR Team Properties through 2029. Originally acquired in 2015, this renewed multi-year agreement will give NASCAR gaming fans unique and exciting ways to engage with the sport through video games and esports.

“The joint effort between 704Games and Motorsport Network will introduce new and innovative features across the NASCAR Heat franchise for years to come,” said Blake Davidson, NASCAR Vice President of Consumer Innovation“We continue to explore ways with our video game partners to enhance our presence in the esports arena and this will provide the stability and resources to expand upon that effort.”

NASCAR Heat 3 will be available on Sept. 7, 2018, on the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One and Windows PC via Steam. Fans can pre-order today at www.NASCARHeat.com.

Just like the actual sport of NASCAR, NASCAR Heat Mobile will be starting a new season early next year! We’ll be resetting your season progress so you can start fresh from the 2018 Daytona 500.

What to Expect with NASCAR Heat Mobile

The 2018 Season Update for NASCAR Heat Mobile will feature the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro, new paint schemes and drivers, as well as the complete 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series schedule, including a brand-new track – The Roval at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The 2018 Season Update will go live in early March 2018.

Here’s what to expect:

  • If you already have a 2017 Custom Car, it will be rebranded with a special GOLD paint scheme to commemorate your first season racing with us!
  • If you meet the following conditions, you’ll receive a special 2017 Commemorative Fan Zone Monument:
    • Bronze Monument – Awards $300 In-Game Cash every 24 hours (You must have at least 15 Stars in the 2017 Season.)
    • Silver Monument – Awards 1 Gold per day (You must have at least 54 stars in the 2017 Season.)
    • Gold Monument – Awards 2 Gold per day (You must have 108 stars or advanced to Season + Mode in the 2017 Season.)
  • All 2017 Fan Packs (i.e. drivers/cars) will be replaced with updated 2018 Season Fan Packs. Any 2017 Fan Packs (driver/cars) you own at the time of the update will be bought back. You will receive the current Gold or Cash value for each, which can then be used to purchase updated 2018 Fan Packs.
  • If you’ve increased the size of your Fan Zone, those expansions will remain in place. Any buildings already in your Fan Zone will remain untouched. We will also be expanding the Fan Zone in this new update and adding several new buildings!
  • If you have upgraded any permanent buildings, such as the R&D Building or Garage, those upgrades will remain in place; however, your car parts will be reset to Research Level 0.
  • Any remaining Gold balance will be carried over to the 2018 Season Update, but your Cash balance will be reset to 0 (except for any money refunded from the buy back of your 2017 Fan Packs).

The 2018 Season is upon us! Can you prove once again that you have what it takes to be a Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion?
