The new Winter Heat Series, run on NASCAR Heat 5, got off to a great start both on and off the track with the first event, the Movember 50, raising over $16,000 for Movember.

In total the drivers raised over $11,000 for Movember, the leading global men’s health charity with a mission to change the face of men’s health. Motorsport Games, who develops and publishes the NASCAR Heat video game franchise and operates the esport, pledged a further $5,000 to the charity taking the total raised to a stunning $16,116.

“We’re thrilled to be able to team up with eNASCAR for the Winter Heat Series to help Movember change the face of men’s health. The Movember 50 really demonstrates the power of this incredible community and to see the participants come together for this cause was a real honor. Funds raised will help fund some of the world’s most game-changing projects in mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer, ultimately helping men live happier, healthier and longer lives. Thank you to all who got involved on the action” said Tom D’Souza, Global Innovation Manager for Movember.

“To raise over $16,000 in just a few weeks goes to show the power of the NASCAR Heat and gaming community, and their eagerness and motivation to give back and make a difference in the world,” said Jay Pennell, General Manager of the eNASCAR Heat Pro League. “This has been a cause that I have enjoyed being a part of for the last seven years, so to connect the Movember Foundation with our avid community of gamers and have them get so competitive about fundraising efforts was amazing to see.”

Created by Motorsport Games, the Winter Heat Series is the opportunity for NASCAR Heat 5 gamers to compete against eNASCAR Heat Pro League teams and drivers for the chance at a $47,000 prize pool over four events spanning four months.

The series’ first event took place on Sunday, November 22 at virtual Dover International Speedway. Partnering with the Movember Foundation, Motorsport Games challenged all participants in the event to raise funds and awareness for men’s health through the Movember Foundation.

Each of the competitors set out on their own fundraising efforts, which was used to set the starting grid for the Movember 50.

Prior to the race, Thomas Cohick raised the most money, beating fellow racer Joey Stone by just $1 with a total of $1,215 raised. Joey went on to record the highest overall total with $1,222. There was great camaraderie throughout with some of the drivers that failed to advance out of open qualifiers continuing to raise funds for the team.

On the track, the racing was thrilling from the drop of the green flag. The races on both PlayStation and Xbox featured tight battles for the lead, multiple incidents that brought out caution flags and exciting fights for the win.

Chip Ganassi Gaming’s Maxwell Castro took the win on the PlayStation side, with Chase Williamson and Wood Brothers Gaming’s Cody Giles rounding out the top three and advancing to the finale in February.

On the Xbox side, 11-time eNASCAR Heat Pro League winner Justin Brooks of JTG Daugherty Throttlers took home the chequered flag, with Season 2 eNHPL champion Daniel Buttafouco and Chip Ganassi Gaming’s Luis Zaiter finishing second and third, respectively. All three are now locked into the series finale.

The next event of the Winter Heat Series on NASCAR Heat 5 is the Holiday 60 at virtual Homestead-Miami Speedway on Sunday, December 20. Participants are now able to register at winter.nascarheat.com, with open qualifiers scheduled from December 7 – 10.

“Today is a very exciting day for me. The chance to work with a cool brand like Motorsport Games is an unbelievable opportunity for me going forward. I’m incredibly thankful and appreciative for this opportunity, and I’m going to continue to work very hard to make them proud,” said Gavan.

Echoing his son’s passion, Kris Boschele added, “This is a really special day for both Gavan and our family. I’m so proud of all the hard work he’s put in to receive this opportunity. The 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual attracted some of the biggest names in motorsport and a huge global audience. The unprecedented success of the esports event has now been recognised by the Leaders Sports Awards, winning the Live Experience trophy.

Motorsport Games, who operated the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual in partnership with the ACO and the FIA World Endurance Championship, joins Tottenham Hotspur, AC Milan, Bose/NFL and Ascot Racecourse as category winners. Full details can be found here

With the postponement of the real world Le Mans endurance race in June the decision was made to take the event online. Motorsport Games, the ACO and FIA WEC set to work creating the most ambitious esports race ever held in just five weeks.

This unique event saw the worlds of professional racing and esports combine as each team of four had to include at least two professional drivers. Top motorsport and esports teams involved included: Ferrari, Porsche, Toyota, Aston Martin, Williams, Team Redline and Rebellion Racing while the driving line-up was also unsurpassed, including Charles Leclerc, Juan Pablo Montoya, Landon Norris, Jensen Button, Sébastien Buemi and many more.

The event has set a record by viewership of an esports race. Global TV distribution included EuroSport, Sky Sports, ESPN, REV, J Sport and Supersport. The total TV and OTT viewership was over 14.2M and online streaming over 8.6m. The event also generated the most hours watched in comparison to any other sim racing event with 1,418,235 across Twitch, YouTube and Facebook.

Pro and Pro-Am Teams to battle for combined $150,000 prize pool

PRESS RELEASE, 4th September (10am UK): Motorsport Games, the FIA World Endurance Championship and the ACO have today unveiled the epic week of racing that will form the new Super Final of the Le Mans Esports Series as Pro and Pro-Am teams race for a share of a $150,000 prize pool. Following the announcement that this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans race will now be held behind closed doors, the Esports Series finals will now take place online in the week building up to the real-world race between Tuesday 15th to Friday 18th September with four nights of stunning racing ahead.

The 2020 Le Mans Esports Series Super Final follows the incredible success of the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual in June and last year’s final, which was won by Veloce Esports just hours before the real race took to the grid.

Teams from around the world will compete on Forza Motorsport 7, on the Xbox One family of devices, in the 2020 final. They will take place over four nights that reflect the history of the iconic endurance race. Each night will feature four hours of exhilarating racing with two one-hour sprint races and a two-hour endurance race. The two teams with the lowest points, in both the Pro and Pro-Am categories, at the end of every night will be eliminated until we go into the Super Final on Friday 18th September where the top three teams will fight it out for the title.

Gérard Neveu, CEO of the FIA World Endurance Championship and Le Mans Esports Series said: “Anyone who witnessed the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual in June will know that great e-racing can take place anywhere in the world, and that the world’s best sim racers can produce exciting and captivating racing no matter where they are.  Of course, we wish that we could all be together at Le Mans this June, but this is an extra-ordinary year and we will look forward instead to seeing everyone involved in the Le Mans Esports Series on site for Season 3’s finale in June 2021.”

Ben Rossiter-Turner, Head of Esports for Motorsport Games commented: “Obviously we are all disappointed to not actually be at Le Mans this year but as the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual proved, earlier this year, we are going to make the best of the situation. This promises to be four nights of fantastic racing that will include all the hallmarks of Le Mans such as history, endurance, skill and of course teamwork. Motorsport Games is delighted to be working with our friends at the FIA World Endurance Championship to make this a stunning event.”

Qualification for the Le Mans Esport Series finals began back in November 2019 and since then seven professional teams (Red Bull Racing Esports, Lazarus Racing, Total Performance Racing, Fast Racers Forza, Solar Vision Racing, RYZE Motorsport and Williams Esports) have earned a place in the final line up where they will be joined by wildcard entrants Veloce Esports, the reigning champions, and Wolves of Dawn – a selection of top esports drivers from teams who did not make the final. The Pro-Am teams will be randomly drafted from players who have qualified at events or through the Rivals system in Forza Motorsport 7

Rallycross champion will win a test drive in QEV electric rallycross car Online Qualification begins 25th August in game

PRESS RELEASE, 18th August (10am UK): Codemasters (AIM: CDM) and Motorsport Games have today announced that the second season of the popular DiRT Rally 2.0 World Series will begin on Tuesday 25th August with the first qualification rounds going live in-game. The season will culminate in a live showpiece final at the Autosport International Show at the Birmingham NEC on 16th January 2021 where 12 drivers will race for a share of $20,000 prize pool – double the amount from the first season. It has also been announced that the winner of the rallycross championship will earn a test drive in the QEV electric rallycross car that will power the new FIA eRX2 Championship.

The DiRT Rally 2.0 World Series follows the success of the first season alongside the incredibly entertaining World RX Esports Series which attracted over 1.24 million live views. Once again, the World Series will have separate championships for rally and rallycross, each with its own $10,000 prize pool.

All players who take part in any of the qualifiers will receive the Ford Fiesta R5 MKII as a free DiRT Rally 2.0 in-game vehicle. Designed as a replacement for its hugely successful predecessor, the Ford Fiesta R5 MKII, is built by M-sport and uses the latest ST-Line body shell. The car also features a new engine and chassis, alongside a notably aggressive anti-lag system. The Fiesta R5 MKII will become available to all qualifying participants at the beginning of October.

Ross Gowing, Game Director of DiRT Rally 2.0 at Codemasters said: “The DiRT Rally 2.0 World Series surpassed our expectations. We knew there was an appetite, but we didn’t expect the vast level of participation and engagement.  Now we get to do it all over again with a bigger event and even more prize money. We are also delighted to reward players with the in-game Ford Fiesta R5 and hope this is an added incentive for players of all levels to get involved.”

Ben Rossiter-Turner, Head of Esports Motorsport Games commented: “We are delighted to extend our relationship with Codemasters to deliver the second season of the DiRT Rally 2.0 World Series. The response from the drivers, viewers and community to the first season and the World RX Esports Series has been overwhelmingly positive and we look forward to delivering an even bigger and better experience this time around, all finishing with a special showcase at Autosport International. We have very exciting plans.”

Pere Gonzalez, Project Manager for the new FIA eRX2 Championship, said: “We are very excited to be partnering with Codemasters and Motorsport Games for the forthcoming DiRT Rally 2.0 World Series. The interest in esports has exploded in recent months, in particular amongst younger participants and fans, and we see a lot of synergies between this demographic and the new FIA eRX2 Championship, which is right at the forefront of rallycross’ electrification. We have witnessed in other disciplines how gamers have the potential and ability to transition into real-life racers, and we look forward to following the competition’s second season as it unfolds and to helping the eventual winner to put their skills to the test in real life.”

Available to all DiRT Rally 2.0 players on PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices and Windows PC (via Steam), players can register a time by navigating to the World Championship tab in the main menu of the game and then selecting Qualifiers.

The DiRT Rally World Series has been divided into three qualifying stages, each consisting of three events. The fastest time on each event from each platform will earn a place in the Qualifying Final. In rally these winners will be joined the three fastest runners up, based cumulative times and in rallycross it will be the two fastest cumulative runners up. The top two in each Qualifying Final will earn a place in the Semi Final before the live Final at Autosport International in January 2021.

An epic night of online racing will decide the driver and team champions on August 19th

Drivers and teams race for $200,000 prize pool

The eNASCAR Heat Pro League (eNHPL) Season 2 will come to an epic conclusion on Wednesday, August 19th as both the drivers and teams championship will be decided in one night of intense esports competition. There is a total of $70,000 on the line in the eNHPL Championship Finale for the competitors, with the ultimate driver champion taking home $30,000.

The full grid of 28 eNHPL drivers will take the flag using ASUS gaming PCs and Fanatec steering wheels for three back-to-back races that will determine the destination of the championships.

Originally planned to be held as an in-person live event, the outbreak of COVID-19 has dictated that the eNHPL Championship Finale will now be held online with all of the drivers racing on the PC version of the newly released NASCAR Heat 5, the video game officially licensed by NASCAR. This marks the first time in series history that all drivers will be competing on the same platform in the same race.

ASUS has been named as the official gaming hardware of eNASCAR and will provide each of the drivers with ASUS ROG Strix G15CK PC, ASUS ROG Strix PG248 monitor and ASUS ROG Strix GO 2.4 headset for the championship showdown.

Speaking about the new partnership with the eNHPL, Gary Key, Senior Director of Marketing at ASUS commented: “The eNASCAR Heat Pro League is leading the charge in bringing an unparalleled esports experience to race fans and motorsports professionals alike in this thrilling conclusion of the championship series. As the official gaming hardware partner for eNASCAR, ASUS is excited to expand its longstanding gaming legacy by supporting passionate racing fans, talent and dedicated esports communities with the tools they need to compete at their best and win.”

The drivers will also be using the Fanatec ClubSport Steering Wheel, officially licensed by NASCAR, which elevates the driving experience to the next level with its realistic 350 mm diameter.

Thomas Jackermeier, CEO of Fanatec, said: “The eNASCAR Heat Pro League has shown us that no matter what is going on in the world, competitive racing can still continue and prosper. We’re proud to work with Motorsport Games and their community of NASCAR fans, bringing one of the most intense racing series to the global esports stage, culminating in the Championship Finale race later this month. Fanatec will continue to support the series with our NASCAR-licensed products for many years to come.”

The eNASCAR Heat Pro League, a collaboration between Motorsport Games, the Race Teams Alliance and NASCAR, gives esports racers the chance to drive for one of 14 official eNHPL teams.

“It’s been a thrill to watch the eNASCAR Heat Pro League grow in its second season and the championship race will mark a key milestone for the series,” said Tim Clark, NASCAR Senior Vice President and Chief Digital Officer. “Having all 28 eNHPL drivers on track at the same time will deliver a unique and competitive environment that wouldn’t be possible without ASUS’s incredible products and partnership.”

The eNHPL Championship Finale will be broadcast live online via motorsport.tv, the NASCAR Heat Facebook and Twitch accounts, eNASCAR.com, as well as taped delayed on MAVTV in the USA and on REV TV in Canada.

Heading into the finale, eight drivers have the chance to claim the individual eNHPL championship while the team’s title is still wide open. There will be three races on the night, each with a full grid of 28 drivers. The two lowest-finishing Driver’s Championship contenders will be eliminated from the running at the end of each race, meaning that the final shoot out will be between the four fastest drivers to advance through the first two events. Meanwhile the Team’s Championship will be determined by points scored across the entire season.

Season 2 began in January with draft qualifying where the teams closely monitored the drivers to make their selection for the year. Once the draft was complete, three segments of three races were held with the top finisher on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One earning a place in the Championship Finale. Two further places were then secured via the Wild Card race.

The drivers competing for the Championship will be:

  • Justin Brooks, JTG Daugherty Throttlers
  • Daniel Buttafuoco, Germain Gaming
  • Maxwell Castro, Chip Ganassi Gaming
  • Slade Gravitt, Wood Brothers Gaming
  • Brandyn Gritton, Stewart-Haas eSports
  • Josh Harbin, Leavine Family Gaming
  • Josh Parker, Gibbs Gaming
  • Brian Tedeschi, Team Penske eSports

The current eNHPL Team standings:

1. Germain Gaming – 625

2. JTG Daugherty Throttlers – 563

Dedicated BTCC game, developed by Motorsport Games, scheduled for 2022

July 29, 2020: Motorsport Games, the video game developer and publisher dedicated to the integration of racing game development and esports, has today announced that it has secured a multi-year license to create the official video game and associated esport for the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). One of the highest profile and most beloved racing championships in the world, the BTCC has a rich history in video games and its renaissance in the virtual world will begin with the development of a new dedicated game, scheduled for 2022.

The new BTCC game will be developed by the team at Motorsport Games for new generation consoles, as well as PC, using market leading technology with an option to also develop a mobile version.

Alan Gow, BTCC Chief Executive, said: “Finally, I’m proud to say that the huge demand from the BTCC and TOCA game fans is being answered. Just like the original BTCC/TOCA game, this will be a dedicated BTCC game featuring all the cars, all the teams, all the drivers and all the circuits – not merely some elements partially incorporated into an existing game.

“It is hugely important to me, our teams, drivers and fans that any new BTCC game reflected exactly what everyone loves about our championship; the incredibly close non-stop action, intense competition and great enjoyment. I’ve no doubt that Motorsport Games will deliver exactly that.”

Stephen Hood, President of Motorsport Games, commented: “This partnership is a clear signal of the enormous trust that the BTCC has placed in Motorsport Games. Our team demonstrated real enthusiasm for the project from day one, and our ambitions were immediately aligned. The opportunity is clear for all to see and we look forward to deploying the significant and proven capabilities of our esports, game development and media teams to return this series back to the forefront of gaming.”

On the new prospect of the new BTCC game, Motorsport Games’ Creative Director, Paul Coleman, said: “There is a clear demand and appetite for a new touring car game, and we are delighted that we are going to make that a reality. Many of the staff in our studio have fond memories of the TOCA game series and my first job in the games industry was actually working on TOCA Race Driver 2 as a QA Tester. We have some exciting plans that we cannot wait to reveal.”

The British Touring Car Championship joins Motorsport Games’ roster of products which also includes the NASCAR Heat video game franchises and esports, such as 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual, eNASCAR Heat Pro League, World Rallycross Esports Series, ABB Formula E Race at Home Challenge, #NotTheGP series and the Le Mans Esports Series.

Reigning FIA World Rallycross champion Timmy Hansen claims esports title against drivers including Charles Leclerc, Shane van Gisbergen and Hayden Paddon

PRESS RELEASE, Friday 24th July (10am UK): The first ever World Rallycross Esports Series attracted over 1.24 million live views over the six events that saw reigning FIA World Rallycross Champion, Timmy Hansen, extend his domination of the sport by claiming the esports crown. A three-way partnership between Motorsport Games, Codemasters and the FIA World Rallycross Championship, the World Rallycross Esports Series attracted a number of world class drivers from various motorsport disciplines including Formula 1’s Charles Leclerc, Shane van Gisbergen from Australian Supercars and rally driver Hayden Paddon as well as a host of World RX regulars.

Run using DiRT Rally 2.0 from Codemasters, which includes the official FIA World Rallycross Championship cars, circuits and drivers, the Esport Series was operated by Motorsport Games. The series was designed to help provide entertainment to the fans of motorsport during the period of postponement for real world motorsport.

The six-race World Rallycross Esports Series saw over 5.4 million minutes of content consumed online with the broadcasts also appearing on linear channels including BT Sports, Ziggo, Supersport and Match TV featuring commentary and analysis from Andrew Coley and Neil Cole.

Paul Bellamy, Senior Vice President of Motorsports Events at IMG, the promoter of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, said: “The World RX Esports Series has been a great way to engage fans, and maintain the profile of the FIA World Rallycross Championship during this time. The esports environment has also provided the arena for our drivers to race while there has been no real-world events, as well as the opportunity for a wide range of other rally and race drivers – including Ferrari F1 star Charles Leclerc – to experience the excitement of rallycross. It was great to see the friendly competition between them, and the way in which FIA World Rallycross Champion Timmy Hansen proved his mastery of the sport in both virtual and real worlds by winning the Esports Series.

Paul continued: “Working together with Motorsport Games and DiRT Rally 2.0 creator Codemasters has provided a platform on which we were able to deliver two invitational events and the four-round World RX Esports Series to a substantial and engaged audience, and we hope to build on this experience and grow our esports offerings in the future.”

Ben Rossiter-Turner, Esports Director for Motorsport Games, commented: “We have always felt that rallycross is perfect for esports. The quickfire, short races provide constant entertainment that is incredibly engaging. The viewing statistic for the World Rallycross Esports Series back this up, as does the feedback we have received from the fans and drivers.

“Motorsport Games has cemented its position as the esports partner of choice for motorsports rights holders and we look forward to continuing to work with our friends at the FIA World Rallycross Championship and Codemasters to create more exciting events and championships in the future.”

Ross Gowing, Game Director of DiRT Rally 2.0 at Codemasters said: “DiRT Rally 2.0 has provided fans with edge-of-your-seat competitive rallycross competition at a time when the sport was on hold. We’ve been blown away with the success of the series. It’s testament to all parties for quickly coming together to provide a tournament of such quality with an incredible driver line-up.”

In addition to the World Rallycross Esports Series, Motorsport Games also operated the recent 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual and Race of Champions Virtual, as well as the ongoing eNASCAR Heat Pro League, the DiRT World Series and Le Mans Esports Series.

With the 88th 24 Hours of Le Mans being postponed until 19-20th September due to the COVID-19 global pandemic and no track action due until July, it was decided to stage an esports event which brought together the world’s best professional drivers and teams with sim racing’s own elite. The event was won by Rebellion Williams Esport, with the Porsche Esports Team taking victory in the GTE category.

eNASCAR Heat Pro League Returns For Season Two After Successful 2019 Debut

Series Kicks Off Tonight at Virtual Homestead-Miami Speedway;

Full Season Streamed on nascarheat.com/live

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (April 22, 2020) – NASCAR, Race Team Alliance and Motorsport Games announced today the highly anticipated eNASCAR Heat Pro League™ season two kicks off tonight at 8 p.m. ET at virtual Homestead-Miami Speedway. The series will again be streamed on eNASCAR.com, as well as NASCAR Heat’s Twitch and Facebook.

“The eNASCAR Heat Pro League debut last year highlighted the significant opportunity for our esports platforms,” said Tim Clark, senior vice president and chief digital officer, NASCAR. “We’re excited about season two, and in the midst of this sport’s hiatus, we’re proud those platforms can help fill that void for our fans.”

The 2020 season features 14 races at tracks across the NASCAR circuit, including Eldora Speedway, Road America and Iowa Speedway, with gamers showcasing their skills in all three of NASCAR’s national series. The 14-race season is broken up into three four-race segments, with one driver per platform (Xbox One™ and PlayStation®4) capturing a spot in the Championship race as well as a shot at the $200,000 prize pool. In addition, a final wildcard event at the virtual Daytona International Speedway in July will allow for two more drivers to secure their Championship hopes.

“eNASCAR Heat Pro League competition helps create yet another opportunity for teams across NASCAR to engage with fans and grow their presence in the evolving esports space,” said Dmitry Kozko, CEO, Motorsport Games. “With an increased prize pool to $200,000 and a new schedule format, competitors and teams have more on the line this season, and the racing is sure to show it.”

The eNASCAR Heat Pro League will once again offer gamers the opportunity to race for one of 14 NASCAR teams, with all of last year’s teams returning. Prior to the virtual draft on April 8, organizations were required to clear at least one roster spot from last year. Chip Ganassi Gaming, GoFas Gaming and Joe Gibbs Gaming elected to start with fully clean slates. Teams had a pool of 48 gamers to choose from, with the draft order determined by inverse point standings from last season. Draft results and team rosters can be found here

The debut season of the eNASCAR Heat Pro League produced over one million live views of its race broadcasts and numerous live events throughout the year, including a live draft at Phoenix Raceway, an in-person race at Charlotte Motor Speedway and the Championship finale at NASCAR’s Arena 43 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The eNASCAR Heat Pro League features 28 gamers from 14 teams, each owned and operated by prominent NASCAR race teams. Each team fields two drivers, one racing on Xbox One™ and the other on PlayStation®4, all competing for a shared championship. The eNASCAR Heat Pro League transitioned to NASCAR Heat 4, the latest game in the NASCAR Heat franchise, last September, prior to the 2019 playoffs.
